EXTASY RECORDS was an independent label founded by X drummer YOSHIKI. UMEMURA of TOKYO YANKEES was later chosen as label president until he was replaced by GEORGE (LADIES ROOM). The label produced independent acts who would later become highly succesfull such as LUNA SEA and GLAY. It reached its peak at the beginning of the 90's mostly due to the success of X JAPAN and big label events called EXTASY SUMMIT would be also held.

hide also founded his own branch inside EXTASY RECORDS called Ug,GARAGE in 1993, which was focused on non visual kei acts. A branch to produce major acts called Extasy Japan was also established in the late 90's but was active for only a short time. EXTASY RECORDS ceased operations around the beginning of the 2000's, even though YOSHIKI had been also sporadically released works for VIOLET UK as well as the soundtrack for the movie CATACOMBS on a label called Extasy Records International.
